Hi,
I was discharged a week ago and started my period yesterday. It’s heavy and I have period pains- also pain on the left side where my ectopic pregnancy was. I finding it quite anxiety inducing and triggering- have been very emotional, but it’s quite comforting to read other people’s experiences on this forum (that I discovered yesterday!).
Dear Hayley,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss,
Periods can take a few months to settle into a rhythm that is more normal for you. The first period can be heavier and more painful, this is normal. You can take regular over the counter pain relief, and apply some gentle heat to your tummy.
I completely understand how triggering this can be and I hope your symptoms settle quickly. The fact that you have had your first period shows your body is starting to get back to normal, which you can take as a positive.
For now, be kind to yourself and we will be here for you for as long as you need,
Sending much love,
Karen x
