Feeling so deflated and low

Hello, I’m new to this forum, it’s been interesting reading your topics.

I had an ectopic pregnancy last summer with my right tube being removed. I then had 2 further losses over the next 6 months. We decided to stop ttc for a few months to try and let my body recover. I found out I was pregnant again 2 weeks ago and it’s been the most anxious time. I had some minor spotting when my period was due which I believe was an implantation bleed. Earlier this week I have started spotting brown blood/discharge. I feel like I jump at every tiny niggle or ache. I’ve had a dull ache in my left hip all day today so have contacted EPU and have a scan booked in 2 days time when I will be 6 weeks.

I just can’t shake this bad feeling that it’s ectopic and its making me feel so down. I just feel numb. I know exactly what will happen at the scan, they will ask if my dates are correct, send me to toilet to empty my bladder so they can do an internal scan and still not find anything. It also isn’t helping that I’m so tired and feel so nauseous all the time.

Has anyone had an implantation bleed with an ectopic? Did you still have “normal” pregnancy symptoms? I don’t remember having either with my first ectopic

Dear Lolly,

We do hear from women who experience bleeding in early pregnancy and to on to have absolutely normal pregnancies. It does not always mean anything is wrong.

I would however speak to a medical professional to see If you can get that scan earlier. You have lain and bleeding and a previous ectopic pregnancy, so it does need to be excluded. If any symptoms worsen, please seek urgent medical advice.

I hope you have a scan and are reassured,

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hi Karen,

Thank you for your reply. I went in for a scan today and was very very shocked to find that they were able to see a sac and a heart beat in exactly the right place. I have a very small pocket of fluid which may explain the discharge and I also have a couple of cysts on my left ovary which are on the larger side so possible cause of any slight pain.

I’m so relieved that its not ectopic. I still feel very anxious as 6 weeks feels like it’s very early but a weight has certainly been lifted.

Xx

Dear Lolly,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy, as you said, early days yet but starting off on a positive note which is great.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,
