Dear Nj23,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy,
If you are concerned about the treatment options, I would talk through your concerns with a medical professional who has access to your medical records for last medical history and drug reactions.
What I will say is that methotrexate is used as it is less invasive than surgery, also the wait to ttc is to wait until your hCG levels are back to normal and then take folic acid supplements for 12 weeks regardless of you have one of two injections.
Following surgery we also recommend waiting for 2 full periods which is usually around the 3 months mark too. I
I’m sorry I cannot be more specific, but I hope your specialists can help you come to a decision you feel comfortable with.
Sending much love and warm hugs,
Karen x
