Hi. I’m 41 and worried about ectopic pregnancy. I have had a couple of extremely faint possibly positive tests but then my period came. But my period only lasted two days and was very light compared to my usual period. I had nothing for two days but since then have had very light pink spotting. The tests are still barely there so not really positive either.
I’ve had some lower back pain etc but nothing huge and pretty normal for me. I know this could be perimenopause related but I’m terrified I’m wrong. Is there always big pain etc?
I’m sorry to hear you are going through this worrying time, and I will do my best to help. I would encourage you to make an appointment with your GP, they also can give you a pregnancy test or take one with you. If it is still positive, they may refer you onward to the early pregnancy unit or at least can continue to monitor you.
There are many ways in which ectopic pregnancy symptoms can present. It’s very important to continue monitoring your symptoms. I would suggest keeping a journal and noting the symptoms, any pain, and what has relieved that pain. You can bring this journal to discuss with your doctor.
Please continue to monitor your symptoms and check in with your doctor. We are here for you for as long as you need.
With good wishes,
Michele
