Hello guys this is my second post on here now I love reading all the hope and happy story’s but I did a test this morning and have a very light positive although I would be over the moon I’m so worried it’s been 2 years but am still struggling getting over the emergency tube removal after an unplanned pregnancy ended in a eptopic I can’t stop worrying v that it’s going to happen all again how soon did you guys tell the epu? Should I wait for the positive line to be bolder? I just don’t know how to feel I’m worrying that much x
Dear Aug,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,
I would class any positive line as a positive, how’s if you are concerned, you could repeat it in a few days with an early morning urine sample.
After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have friends here who understand how you are feeling.
Speaking from UK medical practice and standards, usually doctors carry out an internal transvaginal scan at around six weeks with subsequent pregnancies after an ectopic. This is because there is a reasonable chance of seeing an embryo around this six week mark.
We advise contacting your local EPU, reminding them of your ectopic pregnancy and booking an appointment. If you are unable to self refer, contact your GP who will be able to do this for you. You can do this now so they can book you in.
I hope this helps,
Sending much love and positive thoughts,
Karen x

Same here! I called my Dr asap. We did 2 blood tests (Monday and Wednesday) to make sure hcg was rising. I got an internal ultrasound at 6 weeks (they can do it if hcg is 800+) to verify that it was in my uterus this time. All the tests came back great, so now I’m waiting to hear from an obgyn about my first appointment. I was terrified from the time I took a bunch of pregnancy tests (they got darker each time) to the time I got my test results back. I feel less terrified now.
A friend said she will never stop worrying about her child. I guess this is how it starts lol.
Praying for you and sending baby dust (whatever that means…people keep saying it to me…) your way!!
