I am just so extremely frustrated about this ectopic pregnancy and need to vent. This has been going on for me for almost 5 months and I have no idea when it is going to end. I have already had 2 methotrexate shots and the numbers have been going down nicely, but just recently they hit 30 and then started slowly creeping back up by about 2 each week. I am going in to see the Dr. this afternoon to talk about next steps. I was told that a D&C might be the next step. I have not really heard too much about it but what I have heard is that it sucks! Just the idea of someone going up there and scraping the tissue out gives me so much anxiety. I would rather have a 3rd methotrexate shot than have a D&C done. So if anyone has had D&C done for ectopic, what was your experience like? Did you have a choice between another methotrexate shot or a D&C? Has anyone else had an ectopic that is lasting this long, or is it normal? I am SO TIRED of always waiting till the next week to find out more info, I am tired of getting my blood drawn, I am tired of not being able to just go back to normal! I am tired of waiting to try again! sigh…Thanks for reading my vent.
Dear emilymilani,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss and everything you are going through.
I’m glad you feel you can use these boards to safely vent, we are all here for you.
Unfortunately I am not medically trained, but I am not aware of many hospitals that give a further dose of methotrexate. Having a procedure may allow the doctors to see if anything is triggering the rise.
I see you had an appointment today, I hope you managed to get most questions answered.
We are here for you for as long as you,
Sending much love and warm hugs,
Karen x
