when i was young i was diagnosed with polysystic ovary syndrom, it came about because i was experiencing facial hair & confirmed i had high testosterone i was referred to a consultant who put me on the dianette pill and metformin medication & told me to change my diet to lose weight. i had regular periods also, i then lost weight and had check ups which confirmed my testosterone levels are coming down.
i then one time missed my appointment due to a bereavement and recieved a letter to say id been discharged because of a failed appointment. At the time i was young and was not too worried about things but now 9 years later im married and we are now wanting a family.
Our first pregnancy turned out to be ectopic on the ovary, it took us two month of trying to fall pregnant. Now im going insane wanting to know why and how to ensure this wont happen again. is it because my testosterone is high as ive put three stone on since my hospital appointments 9 years ago?
Does anyone have the same experience or have any information? im going crazy with google xx
Dear xxnic1987xx,
I think I may have answered a question posted by yourself earlier so apologies if this answer is very similar.
We have a list of reasons for ectopic pregnancy and I have posted them below and polysistic ovary syndrome is not on the list.

Although there are a few reasons for ectopic pregnancy, sadly many of us never find out why we experience ectopic pregnancy. Importantly early scans avail. As soon as you know you are pregnant, contact your local EPU to inform them and book in for an early scan at around six weeks. Remind them of your previous ectopic pregnancy. This self refer route is the best route in our view. Hopefully you will have some comfort to know you are under the radar of medical professionals right away.
Sadly I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific answers to your queries but given your concerns, I would suggest seeking medical advice to discuss your medical history and plans to conceive.
Sending much love,
Karen x
