hi
i know this is a long shot but does anyone know of reasons of why an ovarian ectopic pregnancy can happen? I have asked anyone i can but dont seem to get any answers.
I just want to see why it has happened and hoping this does not happen again in the future.

Dear xxnic1987,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
When we experience ectopic pregnancy I think it is a natural reaction to wonder how and why. I know I certainly spent a lot of time trying to figure out why.
Whilst there are some risk factors for ectopic pregnancy as outlined on our page and posted below for you, sadly most of us will never find the reason why it happened to us and this is the same for all ectopic pregnancies.

Sadly there is nothing you could have done to prevent the ectopic pregnancy from happening but importantly early scans avail. As soon as you know you are pregnant, contact your local EPU to inform them and book in for an early scan at around six weeks. Remind them of your previous ectopic pregnancy. This self refer route is the best route in our view. Hopefully you will have some comfort to know you are under the radar of medical professionals right away.
We are here too. Trying to conceive is an emotional rollercoaster compounded by our sad loss. You are not alone. We here emotional support whenever you need us. There is a specific TTC board you can look at too whenever feel ready.
Sending much love,
Karen x
