Coping

had my daughter 9yrs ago and the pregnancy went brilliantly . Three years later that’s went life changed , it’s been 6yrs and 4yrs since I had my ectopic’s and I’m still struggling to deal with it . The first was a total shock which went on a while and ending up in surgery and removal of my left tube . The next one was like two years to the day from the first and it was twins one was ectopic again the other was a miscarriage. But I didn’t need surgery for the second one as had an injunction. This all happened on my daughter’s birthday . I didn’t received any help from anyone (doctor’s or nurses ) . I shut everyone out I shut down ! Ending me and my partners 11yr relationship which happen a year ago now . I’ve been seeing a councillor since feb but I need something more . I’m reaching out for help . I need my life back for me and my little girl . Can some one help please .

Hi Lorraine 2,

My heart goes out to you. We are so sorry you have suffered so much and you are not alone - we are all here and will do our best to help you through as friends.

There is no right timeline for recovery as we are each so unique, and during this time, it is so important to put yourself first and look after yourself. There is help available. It’s always worth revisiting your GP as they will be able to discuss all your treatment options with you.

We also have experience at supporting women and their families through ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage and are there for you if we can help with this. We are more than happy to talk with you on the email or telephone you and answer any questions you may have or simply listen about your experience. Our helpline is 020 7733 2653.

In a moment of crisis, A&E could be the best place to go or there are 24 hour helplines like the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90.

Please know that we are hear for you anytime - to ask questions, to share or just to vent.

With good wishes,

Michele
