C section scar ectopic

Hi all

I suffered from a rare c section ectopic two weeks ago. Very long story short, I thought I might have been experiencing another missed miscarriage (gut instinct told me this pregnancy wasn’t meant to be), so I went to my GP who arrange HCG testing and whilst my numbers were increasing they weren’t going up as much as the average would. This led to a life saving scan (no other symptoms other than my gut feeling) which showed the baby (with heartbeat :frowning: ) was growing in my c section. I was given no choice but to terminate via a D&C. The operation was a real success (well if you can call it that), no heavy bleeding as they expected and more importantly I avoided a hysterectomy. Asides from my HCG levels being monitored (currently at 2) I have no further follow up. I asked when I can try again and my surgeon said he wasn’t sure but may be 6 months, another gyne said 3 months, the midwife said 2 cycles. I have no idea what advice to listen to although I know I don’t want to wait 6 months as I am 38 in May!! I also have been given no advice on D&C aftercare. Ie when I can have sex again, when can I exercise and when will my stitches come out (put in just incase I haemorrhaged). Or do I have extensive scar tissue and is this likely to happen again … so many an answered questions. I am trying to find a private gyne but no luck as yet. Has there been anyone else out there who has had this type of ectopic?

Thanks for readingx

Hi. I am so sorry for your loss. I went through a c section ectopic yesterday. Our stories are very similar and i too am waiting on answers to a lot of questions. I’m sorry I don’t have any answers for you but I just wanted to reply with saying you’re not alone in what you’ve gone through. take care xx

I’m so sorry about your loss! My advice is to let your body heal. I had an emergency C section done to remove my left tube last May when I was 38. It was my first pregnancy. My doctor recommend to wait 6 months to let my body heal from the surgery. It felt like a long time! But I did it as I didn’t want to take any chances. He recommended an HSG test in September to make sure everything was clear. I’m not sure what kind of surgery you had done. I have been trying for the last 4 months. I’ve been eating healthy. I’m now 39 years old and just found out that I’m pregnant and if it all goes ok I’ll be 40 when I deliver by end of year. There’s hope! listen to your doctor and allow your body to heal and stay positive. Sending you blessings!
