Breast Pain/Burning Sensation after EP

Hello ladies,

I am 2 weeks post op for an ectopic pregnancy that ruptuted at 10 weeks. I was given an MTX shot prior to medically manage it but it didnt work and had to go through the emergency surgery route.

Yesterday I noticed that my breasts had this burning sensation but it doesnt seem topical and I dont see a rash. It feels like an internal tissue irritation. Did any of you guys experience this?

I do have a gyno appt tomorrow so I plan to address it with her too.

Please let me know.

Dear Salu2005,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,

Many women experience sore breasts immediately after and for some weeks after the operation as they get used to not being pregnant. They may get sore again leading up to the next period, this is all normal. Unfortunately I am not medically trained so if you feel this is not cause of the pain or it doesn’t settle, please speak to your Dr.

We have more information on your body after ectopic pregnancy here-

Please allow time to grieve, to heal both physically and emotionally.

Sending much love,

Karen x
