Margs i havent added you yet as i remembered you wanted to wait until you had ur dating scan but if you change ur mind just say
hope all ladies and bumps are doing well does everyone have a date for there 20 week scan and are you going to find out the sex of baby?
Thanks so much for setting this up, feels very official now! Hope you are doing well? I have my 20 week scan booked up for the 27th march but I need to change as will be away on holiday. Definitely going to find out the sex if baby is amenable I am way too impatient to wait and I personally don’t feel like it ruins anything, but I know lots of people feel differently. When is yours? Will you find out?
it does feel very official, im doing fine starting to feel a little better. cant believe u have ur scan soon. my scan is not until 2nd may so ages away still but think i will definitely find out the sex as i am also very impatient and cant wait to start buying stuff
Thank you Sam for setting this thread up, can’t quite believe I’m posting on a due date thread, it really does seem official now!
I’ve just got back from having my second dating scan; everything is looking fine and was much clearer this time. Can’t believe how much baby has grown in 2 weeks, just under 3cm! It’s amazing how much has changed in just 2 weeks. Could get used to having a scan every 2 weeks, seems like ages away until the 20 week one, I don’t have a date yet but hoping I will get one through soon so I can start counting down the weeks. Angie I can’t believe yours is at the end of March that seems so close. I don’t know about you ladies but the time seems to be flying by, I hope I start to feel a bit better soon, still feel utterly exhausted and wake up with a headache almost every day, how is everyone else feeling?
How much exercise are you ladies doing if any? Everyone keeps looking at me like I’m mad when I say I’m still going to the gym, I’m not doing anywhere near the level I was before getting pregnant but want to keep it up as much as I can.
Hi ladies, thanks so much for setting the thread up Sam it’s so exciting to have somewhere to come and chat about our bumps!
We have our 20 week scan on 4th April so doesn’t feel too far away thank goodness, it feels ages since our 12 week scan! I think we’re going to wait and have a surprise when little one is born, although me and DH have said we may change our mind on scan day!!
Has anyone begun buying things? We went shopping to get a few ideas and picked up some wet wipes, scratch mitts, monkey comforter toy (so cute!) and a newborn vest! So not much but it was so exciting to be getting a few bits. I’ve written a huge list of everything we need which is very scary, I’m now panicking as to how we’re going to get everything done in time. Silly I know as we have ages! When is everyone thinking of getting the big things such as buggy, cot?
Aw Louise I’m glad ur scan went well, it’s such an amazing experience! I’m definitely starting to feel better in terms of sickness, but still getting headaches pretty much daily and feeling exhausted by the end of the week. Sorry if tmi but I’m having some horrible constipation too. Exercise wise not much as I’m so tired and very active at work, but I want to start swimming once it gets a bit warmer.
Fayiles- try using fybogel, it’s a powder that comes in sachets that you just mix with water and drink and is perfectly safe take during pregnancy. You can have 2 sachets a day but i have been having one every morning which seems do have done the trick! Nice and regular now! Xxx
Hope your all well and bumps too . i cant believe how quick the weeks are going. I have my 20 week scan on the 5th april. had a little bit of stress the last couple of days as just lost my job which is quite annoying, not sure if im now going to be entitled to maternity allowance(self employed). we already know we are having another little boy…so have got a name sorted and have got a car seat but thats about it which i have brought…lots of browsing though. Got to be careful with money this time round which i didnt want to do. i already have the push chair, moses basket toys etc as im a childminder. i also have a sister and sister in law that had babies before christmas which is handy.
I have been and brought a baby doppler which puts my mind at ease and i get to hear baby o’s heartbeat when i like midwifes advise not to use them as it scares more people…but i dont think so.
Ive been feeling fine and have now a little bump and can feel baby moving (nearly 17 weeks and 2nd baby) which they say you can start feeling baby from 14 weeks if 2nd. i didnt feel my first move until i was about 22 weeks. Lots of cramps and stretching. still not gained alot of weight as i lost alot at the start from the sickness.
Hey ladies hope everyone and bumps are well, i thought i was starting to feel better but nausea has returned and wake up with a headache every day still feeling very tired. i have had to ask my boss if i can have my shifts split as i work 4 days but dnt feel safe by the end of day 3 as im totally exhausted and since its other ppls lives im looking after ( im a nurse ) don’t think i should risk it. so she has agreed not to give me more than 2/3 in a row thank goodness. now im counting down the days till im away to Barcelona for 2 weeks -woohoo 9 weeks 5 days cant wait to have some relaxing in the sun
Louise that great u can now feel baby i cant wait for that i loved feeling my DS move
fayIles ive not started buying anything yet altho ive been really tempted think ill wait until after 20 week scan
Rachel im not doing much exercise other than working and chasing after my toddler on my days off i dnt have the energy to do anything else
hey ladies how all is well with uz and bumps its been very quiet on here recently,
i have been feeling totally rubbish i have a bad case of sinusitis i usually have to take antihistamines all year round but as im pg i can not longer take them which i why i think ive developed sinusitis, anyway been giving antibiotics so hopefully i should start to feel better soon.
not long now for some of uz for ur 20 week scans i really cant wait for mines
Sorry to hear you’re not feeling great, I haven’t been too well either. I keep getting really bad headaches at the moment and still struggling with tiredness, I really hope that subsides soon! I keep thinking I can feel some movement but I’m not sure if it’s just all in my head as I really really really want to feel baby move! I haven’t had an appointment through for my 20 week scan yet but I have my next appointment with the midwife on Monday so I’m hoping she will request one from the hospital once I have seen her.
How is everyone? Sorry that I haven’t been on in a while, still really knackered and also still have MS so not had a lot of energy to come in the evenings. But all is going well otherwise, been feeling the baby move a fair bit now which is lovely and DH even managed to feel a little nudge last night which was ace Generally doing well, have started yoga which is really nice, did it last time round as well and found it really useful to keep fitness a bit and also in labour. My scan is now not until the 3rd April as we are away on holiday for Easter, just heading to London to catch up with friends and family but really looking forward to the break
Sam how are you doing? I had sinusitis when I was pregnant with DS and it is absolutely miserable, hope the antibiotics have kicked in ok? Apparently you are very prone to it when you are pregnant, something to do with the way the membranes in your nose swell…?
Rachel sorry that you are still feeling knackered, like you I am waiting to ‘bloom’ What does the movement feel like? It might very well be baby!
hey angie im doing a lot better thanks i think the antibiotics have worked i no longer have the pain behind my eyes and can lie down without all that pressure building up, however i now think i may have the start of the cold lol typical
Rachel hope ur feeling better im still fairly tired too its horrible feel like my DS is missing out on all the stuff we used to do because of it hopefully it will pass soon
afm we bought a doppler and was a bit unsure if we would be able to hear baby or not yet but last night tried it and straight away there was a very strong heart beat it was so lovely to hear it and very reassuring
hope your all doing well and bumps growing nice and big
So I got a little bored hanging out by myself like Billy no mates on the 12 week thread, so I thought I would come and join you guys here!
I have been to the doctor for the blood tests (still waiting for the results to get back) and had a look to see how Bean is doing - actually Doc spent ages trying to get decent photos and DH stood there squinting at the screen, but every time he thought he had it figured out, bean moved!
My nuchal and dating scan is only booked for the 4th April - so Fay, I will be thinking of you that day with your 20 week scan
Bean was doing a great imitation of its Mexican Jumping Name-sake and the doctor couldn’t get a decent photo at all - so I did get a string of blurry ‘Mr Blobby’ shots, which inspired DH to say Bean looks like a relative of the Bush Baby
at least I did get to see bean again, saw the little heart beating away and the growth is bang on schedule at 12 weeks and 4 days today.
I have lost half a kilo between my last doctor’s appointment and this one, but the doc is not worried because baby’s growth is perfect. I think this is what happens when bub decides that mom is not allowed any refined sugar - so mom has had the healthiest diet in all of history, I can tell you every way to eat beat root and cabbage now!
We have also started walking - every evening. I don’t really have nausea - but if I don’t eat continuously, then I start feeling light headed and queasy - but as soon as my blood sugar levels go up again, we are perfect, so i am walking around with dried fruit and seed bars in my hand bag and that works an absolute charm.
How is everyone else keeping and how are all the little Beans?
Hi ladies how is everyone? It’s been really quiet on here, sorry I haven’t checked in very much, it’s been a busy old few weeks! I’m currently finding work really stressful and keep crying a lot which is rather embarrassing! I seem to be taking everything to heart which isn’t helping me and DH’s relationship, although he’s very patient with me! Also I thought I was over morning sickness but last week it came back, I was sick a few times all very unexpectedly and kept gagging.
I’m feeling very excited about our 20 week scan on Thursday although very anxious too, I’m worried they might find something wrong. I’ve been worried for a while as I haven’t gained weight, actually lost around 5 pounds, although can see the weight on my boobs and the beginning of a bump. Haven’t felt baby move yet but I think that’s normal? Thanks Margs, I’ll be thinking of you and your 12 week scan that day, hopefully you’ll be able to see a clearer picture of your jumping bean!
How’s everyone else going? Does anyone have scans coming up soon? Take care ladies, I’ll drop in after 20 week scan! Xx
How is everyone getting on? Is it just me or is time starting to really fly past?
Sam glad that the sinusitis has cleared up ok but sorry you have a cold. I also have one, thanks to my DS that I can’t seem to shake at the mo. That is exciting that you bought a doppler, I have never been brave enough - like you, would be scared that I couldn’t find the heartbeat. But great that yours is working well, must be such a lovely feeling - it is the best sound isn’t it?!
Margs sounds like you have a very active bean in there, which is fab! Sorry that you have been having issues with your diet, but guess it means you will be super healthy! Good luck for your scan this week
FayIles good luck for your scan this week too - mine is tomorrow, so am sharing the nerves with you! I wouldn’t worry too much about weight gain at this stage, baby is still very small so as long as you can still see changes happening to you, am sure all is good. My weight has been fairly static too, but not worrying about it, as have a good sized bump now Am sure the weight will go on soon, whether we like it or not!
AFM, am doing fine, though still have m/s so not sure that is going anywhere as am now 21 weeks, but am managing to get on with it ok. Hits worst in the late afternoon and then lingers until I go to bed. Other than that, am feeling fine, tired but to be expected with my very active toddler  Am also feeling a lot more movement which is ace and have even seen one or two kicks from the outside. I have my scan tomorrow so really looking forward to that, but nervous too - the nerves never really go do they?! Going to find out the sex as well - will check back and let you know if it will be the start of team blue or team pink
Aw that’s lovely Badger and great that you’re feeling so many movements! I haven’t had any yet (don’t think anyway!) but am not too worried as this is our first baby. How was ur scan Badger? Any update on teams?!
Our scan was amazing, it was this morning and I absolutely loved it I could watch baby all day. They are very wriggly so had trouble getting pictures of the heart so I had to jump up and down and roll to my side! Finally got all measurements and its all looking good. We saw little one bending their knees and stretching out, also face on and yawning. I gulped and then baby did at the same time too which was amazing. I found the whole experience so beautiful and moving (and I cried!), I can’t believe how long baby actually is and the change between all the scans I’ve had. We managed to stay team yellow which is great and am very impatient to meet little one!!
FayIles congrats!! Sounds like you had a fab scan it is a really moving experience isn’t it, so special to see your little one like that, especially after all us ladies have gone through to get to this stage. Great that all is looking really well and it is so ace to see the baby for that length of time isn’t it?! Go team yellow!!
Our scan was great too, had ages in there as it is a teaching hospital so training someone. They were actually apologising for how long they kept us there but like you, could have laid there all day. Baby is looking good, all the usual checks were fine and we found out it is a he!! So a wee brother for my DS It is what I had been thinking anyway so really happy to get it confirmed. Think it will be ace and I feel like I know what to do with boys - my knowledge of tractors, diggers and police cars has come on leaps and bounds As for movement, I was only feeling little bubbles about the same stage (that could have easily been indigestion) so I wouldn’t expect much yet as it is your first. I am pretty surprised by how much I already feel but I guess it is because it has all been stretched out before - nice
Big hugs to you all and look forward to hearing how you get on with your scans.
Badger congratulations on having another boy, im glad everything went well. Fayilles glad your scan went well too and really hope morning sickness passes.
Sam how are you and bump doing??
sorry to the ladies ive missed i cant remember with names…never could so sure cant now lol.
afm everything was going great untill good friday when i woke up and realised i was bleeding…not red blood but old blood Sorry tmi. was worse as i was in norfolk spending the weekend with my nan, so had to go to hospital by ambulance. whilst in A&E i could feel baby m kicking and moving so wasnt too scared and as the blood wasnt red and had actually stopped by the time a midwife came to get me. anyway i had a scan and necessary checks baby was good with heartbeat and also cervix was still closed. they couldnt give me a reason as to why it happened but said sometimes women do. i thought that was it but bled a little on monday…nothing since. I am completely on edge everytime i get a little pain or twinge. i read that stress can cause bleeding which i have been lately as lost my job and now worrying about money.
got my 20 week scan tomorrow so fingers crossed, we know we are having another little boy have been feeling movement everyday and can even see it now from the outside, also i have a doppler that i use (naughty i know). i am now suffering with heartburn, which i did with my son. i have completely banned my partner from coming anywhere near me know lol.
Congratulations th Fay and Badger - that is so exciting!!!
Louise - I do hope that you are OK - and that everything goes smoothly for the rest of your pregnancy - I would have completely lost my mind in your shoes. Thinking of you - but I am glad that they don’t suspect anything serious - must be such a relief for you!
Fay - sorry to hear that you are still suffering from morning sickness - I really hope it passes soon, but it sounds like our scans were very similar - the sonographer struggled for more than half an hour to get a decent piccie of baba - and the one heart valve reading she had to stop, go try and do something else and come back to it later - he just wouldn’t lie still.
She was jiggling my belly and teasing him with the sonar, baba was a wriggly little worm yesterday - fortunately he eventually fell asleep and in the perfect position - so she could get all the readings and take all his measurements - and she very strongly suspects that we are expecting a perfectly healthy bouncy baby boy as well (someone on here better start cheering for team pink soon :D)
We are low risk and we even got to see his little toes - his feet measure 15mm - so tiny!!!
DH and I are grinning at each other like idiots, and just repeating - we’re having a boy, we’re having a boy.
FayIles- im glad ur scan went really well its amazing seeing how much baby has changed- well done for managing to stay team yellow its nice having a little surprise as for movement with my DS i did not feel any movement until 22-23 weeks as i had an anterior placenta which can apparently block ll the movements until baby is alot stronger.
Angie- team blue woohoo i know what u mean about knowing what ur doing with boys. and ur DS will love having a little brother. its great how much movement ur feeling im not really sure if ive been feeling anything or if its just in my head lol but it kinda feels strong like proper movement not like flutters or bubbles which is why im not sure if im just imagining it or if it really is , but i do listen with the Doppler every day and baby has a lovely strong heartbeat so im happy.
Louise- that must have been so scary but glad the scan showed all was ok, i also have a doppler i love hearing the heart beat its such a reassurance at times. hope ur 20 weeks scan goes well and u get some lovely pics
Margs- glad ur scan went well and another team blue woohoo
come on team pink !!!
Rachel- do you have a date for ur 20 week scan yet ? i cant remember is you said you did or not
afm- im feeling alot better now sickness still comes and goes at times but not as bad as before. only 27 days till i find out which team cant wait really excited. one of my work mates has just had her baby 7 weeks early he only weighs 3lbs so small but doing well in scbu what a fright that must have been for her. you just never know whats gonna happen.
