April chit chat

Thought I’d start a new thread since we were still in February!

Hope everyone is doing well! Anyone else looking forward to the weekend? I sure am. I’m looking forward to getting lots of rest!

Hi lily, fabulous idea. Xxx

Nothing really to report here apart from being huge and having awful reflux.

We got some great deals at M+p yesterday 20% off all clothing which was great. We got our carrier too. Xxx

Niamh is in her new bedroom and today’s job is to clean the nursery. But I’m in a cuddly mood and can’t find any motivation. Xxx

Hope everyone is doing well. Xxx

Sorry I forgot to do the follow thing lol.Xxx

A rubbish night sleep and got loads to do today. Xxx

I found it  I hope all u ladies are well x x

Sorry, didn’t mean to confuse anything starting this new one! We can use the old one if it works better for everyone!

Princess, YES to more body hair! I really only notice it on my belly, but I do notice it for sure! Sorry to hear your sickness hasn’t gone away. Hopefully it does go away soon!

Bec, sorry you didn’t get good rest. Only 2 more weeks is it?

Vix, I hope everything went well!

Nothing new here, other than I’m busting out of all of my non-maternity clothes. I have a coupon for 20% off that’s good from April 7-13 for a discount, so I’m thinking of driving to work tomorrow and stopping on my way home tomorrow to get maternity leggings and maybe some skirts/dresses I can wear to work. I had on regular leggings, but a size larger, yesterday and an elastic waist skirt and was so uncomfortable.

Yep 2 weeks tomorrow. Feels really strange. Xxx

Didn’t realise we had a new one!

15/16 week app went well heard heart beat she got it first time!!! I don’t have to see her until beginning of July which is crazy!!! Although I do have consultant in May so will have some kind of medical contact apart from scan! Been referred for physio go my hip and back pain aswell

Hope everyone is well xx

Yay for hearing the heartbeat. Best sound in the world. Xxx

Niamh woke at 3 again, it’s getting ridiculous. I can set my timer from her but nothing happens at that time. Not the heating, not a car going to work. I’m really stumped. Xxx

Anyway loads to do today so I need to get a wiggle on and get out of bed. Xxx

Yay for the heartbeat, Vix! Great news! July does seem far off, but it will come quickly!

I’m headed to get some maternity leggings after work, so I drove in to the city. My memory has been terrible lately, so I put an appointment in my calendar for a half hour before I get off saying “DON’T TAKE THE BUS! YOU DROVE TO WORK!” I hope it works. If not, I’ll be 30km away looking for my car.

Lily im glad I’m not the only one with extra body hair on my belly… I read up in it that it is normal coz of hormones.

Thanks… hopefully the sickness will go soon. I don’t throw up every day jua some days but I have sickness most days.

Vix I’m really glad for u that u got to hear u baby’s heart beat. Must of been a wonderful experience.

Iv got my nxt scan 25th April when il be 17 +2 and my 16 wks appointment where I get to hear baby’s heart beat 26th April (next day) when il be 17+3.

I hope everyone is doing well n getting enough rest. X x

My belly is really hairy lol.Xxx

I can’t believe that we only have 12 days left.

Oh no Bec… im glad I ain’t only one but don’t worry iv read its normal coz of hormones n will go away after birth.

12 days to go is exciting. … how do u feel? I bet u n ur family are excited. I hope ur resting. X x

So exciting, Bec!

People are starting to ask me about where the baby is going to sleep, etc. Whenever I answer (upstairs, in her crib) they laugh and say I won’t won’t to walk upstairs all the time. Ok, it’s just my mom saying these things. I know she’s trying to be helpful and that I haven’t had a baby before, but I feel like she’s just telling me how to do things. I.e. She wants me to have a bassinet downstairs. My mother in law thinks I need to have a changing table upstairs and use that for all the diapers. I think it might be a waste of money. So my mom thinks I won’t want to go upstairs, and my mother in law thinks I will want to go up to change all the diapers.

I know they have a lot of experience, but I’m willing to play things by ear. If I end up wanting a changing table, I can buy one later. All the suggestions and comments are making me question myself and feel really inexperienced. I know having a baby will be new, but I feel pretty confident that I will make out just fine.

Lily im sure ur mum and mum in law are just trying to help u and mean well. But its ur decision n im sure ul know what to do and u can’t picture every thing until ur babies here n then if u have questions or want advice u can ask them or who u want to for it… im sure it will work out fine n its up to u abd ue partner how u will arrange ur hse for ur baby.

Im in experienced to having no kids but iv been baby sitting my niece’s n nephews since the first one was born wen I was 11 and my twin sis youngest kid is a yr n a half n she lives in a hse with stairs n she kept her baby in her room to sleep in a moses basket and in her bed for while wen she was born n especially coz she breastfed n now for quite a while she’s been sleeping in a cot the kind that u can put one side down on the cot so it fits onto end of bed makes it easier in nite to see to her n feed her, she has a camera monitor u can carry around hse wen u are in another room n want to keep eye on She keeps changing mat etc in her room n also gas travel changing mat in nappy changing bag so she can change her up or down stairs. Also my niece Sienna has own room she will move into wen 2.

Ul work it out im sure n do a great job so don’t worry.

If I have any questions wen my baby is here il ask my sis or someone for advice but I think wen ur a new mum u just figure out uself what works best.

Im looking to move with my bf in june so by time im due beginning Oct I don’t even know if wel have staira or not where we move to.

Try not to stress thou coz im sure ul figure it all out n do a great job n ur mum n mum in law only care n are trying to help  x x

Thanks, princess. I know you’re right. They really are just trying to be helpful, it’s just my reaction to it, and all the things that I just don’t know yet! I’ve babysat a lot, too, but I’ve never had to spend 24/7 doing it with sleepless nights, let alone breast feeding! I think it’s all just really making me realize I don’t feel ready yet! But, I don’t think I’ll ever feel ready. I think I just had a stressed out time thinking about it this week.

I’m also a bit frugal, so I don’t want to be buying things that we don’t need or won’t use. But I guess it is hard to tell now what we’ll need/want. I think I’ll talk to my friends with little ones soon. I’m planning on shopping with my BFF Monday, so I’ll chat with her about it, and maybe my sister in law. My sister in law has 4 small kids.

I started a list tonight of things we need to buy. And a list of names. I feel like the next 18 weeks will fly by.

Ur welcome Lily  Least u know ur family are trying to help. Ul be fine wen ur baby is here… its all about adjustment n routine n ul get there.

Yea im sure 18 wks will go fast n its good u have u friends n family to go to for advice.

Iv already told my twin sis n some of my friends il be asking for advice wen my baby is here.

I know there is alot to buy but hopefully some of ur friends n family with lil kids will give u things they don’t need too as everything is expensive n certain things baby’s only use for short while as they grow out of things quick.

Don’t worry all will b fine n u got plenty time to prepare. I guess if u just do it bit at a time is what I think il do.

Its great idea to have lists to help u. Ooh exciting choosing names… iv already got a couple names in mind but will prob change mind mayb wen baby is born n need to come to agreement with bf too.

I think its normal to worry n ul be ready wen baby comes coz ul be so happy n just take it day at a time.

Enjoy u baby shopping with ur friend on Monday  x x

We brought a lovely chair for this baby that reclines in to like a moses basket. It’s fabulous. Tiny love sleep safe I think it’s called.

Sorry I have been quiet for a couple of days, my phones memory was full and wasn’t letting emails through.

Anyway we now have everything, and it’s just about all in place. 10 days to go. Xxx

Moses basket/ chair sounds great Bec.

Exciting 10 day count down n ul be a mummy again  x x
