MD14, Princess83, charl-26, Sarah123k or anyone due ?

Hi Ladies,

How are we all keeping? i think everyone is 34 weeks + at the moment? just wondering if any birth announcements yet?

I’m 34 + 4 with a blue bump, due 16th August. He is still transverse (lying across my tummy) so dont think he will be here soon, if he hasnt moved head down by next midwife appointment (36 +4) they will discuss ECV or a c section. I just want him to get here safely.

Hope you are all well

xx

Hi Avis,

good to hear from you and glad to hear you are well.

I am 37+5 now and getting ever so slightly uncomfortable! But slowly the excitement of meeting her is outweighing my fear of giving birth. The heat is getting to me a bit and i don’t get the best nights sleep anymore, peeing every hour and just not being able to get comfortable in bed but i don’t want to complain at all really. I still consider myself incredibly lucky.

Just FYI Avis, my little one was breech at my 28 week scan, my 32 week scan and then thankfully head down at my 36 week scan. I was getting really nervous about it, but you have plenty of time for him to turn head down.

I hope everyone is doing well, thinking of you all,

Marie xxx

Hey girls me and my pink bump are doing great! Currently 37 weeks today! Having my c section on 27th so 17 days and so excited. She’s 2/5ths engaged and I’m so feeling it. I’m fed up tired and huge but grateful at the same time but my god the next 2 weeks cannot come quick enough! Its so nice to hear your all doing good looking forward to the birth announcements xxx

Hi Marie,

Iv been organised since week 30 and now playing the waiting game feels so close but yet so far! 16 days eeek any names yet? Xx

Hello ladies

Aww how exciting is this after everything we’ve all been through. Still feel so lucky, I never thought I’d see this day.

Avis I’m due on the 16th August too, we don’t know the sex of the baby I’m thinking boy but will keep everyone posted . I last weighed myself at 33weeks and id only put on 6lb I’m shocked !!! I’m now 35+2. I’m not finishing work until the 7th August but struggling now. I feel really breathless, does anyone else?? Hopefully the baby is head down the midwife seems to think it is , at my appointment last week it was at the brim of my pelvis eeek!! I’m starting to feel lots of pressure and dragging sensations .

Just wondered ladies what your fetal heart rates have been. Heard an old wives tale about sex of the baby relating to this :-). Mine has always been 140 but last week had dropped to 120.

I’m all organised now apart from packing my hospital bag. Names we have chosen are Harry for a boy and Ava for a girl.

Good luck girls and keep us posted xx

Hey Princess,

Yes i get out of breath very easily too, still walking to work everyday and it’s getting tougher and tougher. Finish up 2 weeks today for annual leave then mat leave it cant come quick enough. Good on you for working till 7th aug, means you get more time at the other end.

Those are beautiful names, please do keep in touch let us know how you get on. I still cant believe I’m pregnant and i still get jealous when i see pregnant ladies which is very strange, when im visibly very pregnant myself.

Lucky you only putting on 6lbs, i look at my pre pregnancy jeans and cannot believe they ever fitted! I’m hoping breastfeeding means i can wear them again!!

Good luck everyone xx

11 days left! So excited, never thought I’d get to keep this baby it’s still not sunk in yet…

Having a hard pregnancy atm hips pop out of place can’t walk cos of bad spd but I’m so grateful!

We are calling our Girl Kaleesi-Mae xxx

4 days to go until my due date but I think it will be a bit longer than that, but then, what do I know  its all getting quite heavy and my sleep pattern is so weird and I feel quite lazy. hard to get out of bed at all these past 2 days. I think I will force myself to go for a swim now because that always makes me feel better. as of friday baby girls head isn’t engaged yet, so lets see what happens  I can’t wait to meet her, but I am anxious about labour, which I realise is totally normal, but it freaks me out. The bags are packed, her room is ready so its a very strange count down to be on I find.

I hope everyone is doing well! Lots of love

Marie

Aww so happy for everyone. I should really get on with packing my bag I’ve half done it ! I’m anxious about labour too because my ectopic ruptured and I lost so much blood I’m scared something is going to burst in labour silly I know!

5 days until my c section! Absolutely petrified :frowning: feel like il die silly I know… Everything is ready for baby girl to come and I can’t wait to meet her but my god my spd is agony and I’m sooo tired can’t seem to sleep at night but nap in day ahh nearly over for us all xx

MD 14 i cant believe you are due in 4 days! so exciting, i remember reading your faint bfp post and keeping everything crossed it would be 3rd time lucky for you! I’m terrified of labour too, got Midwife on thu to see if my boy has moved to head down but i know he keeps switching between transverse, breech and oblique. He’s so big i can see and feel him shifting! im still working and my ribs are agony and having trouble breathing, also ankles had swollen to cankles in past few days.

Charl 26- what a beautiful name, GOT inspired very powerful lady

5 days to c section-aaa you must be dying to get in and meet your little one.

Princess83 - i’m the same half packed a bag for me and i need to wash all the baby clothes for his bag, will definitely need to do this at the weekend- i can totally understand your fear, i might need to go for a presentation scan next week if baby not engaged and i’m terrified of scans,i get major anxiety.

i just keep thinking every time i go i will get bad news, not long now till we meet our babies.

Looking forward to the 1st BA!

Hi Ladies, I’m so thrilled for you all on your pregnancies. I’m really pleased to say that I gave birth to a beautiful little girl on 6 July. I’ve named her Lily.

I started labour at 5.30am on Sunday 5 July. I was due to have a natural birth but ended up having an emergency c-section for several reasons - I wasn’t dilating properly; my baby was lying with her back to mine and when they broke my waters, it contained meconium (baby poo) which was a sign she was distressed, so they carried out the C-section at around 12.30pm on Monday 6 July. I was terrified as I knew nothing about caesarians but the procedure itself was absolutely fine. I didn’t feel any pain, though I did feel the sensation of pressure when the surgeons were getting my baby out, but it didn’t hurt at all. It was painful afterwards once the anaesthetic had wore off, but I had regular pain relief and the pain lessened every day and after a week I didn’t need any more pain killers.

My baby weighed a whopping 9 pounds 10 which explained my huge pregnancy bump! Holding my baby for the first time was absolutely magical. I loved her straight away and that love just grows and grows every day. My daughter’s almost three weeks old and being a mum is really hard work but it is so worth it. Already I have shared so many beautiful moments with my daughter - feeling her warm breath on my ear as she falls asleep on me, seeing the look of peace and contentment on her face when I breastfeed her, the funny expressions she pulls and just sitting there watching her in her cot in amazement that she’s actually my child, when I never believed I’d ever be a mum.

Good luck to you all with the rest of your pregnancies and with childbirth and I’ll look out for your birth announcements!

Love, Sarah

Aww Sarah congratulations on the birth of baby Lily!

Im so happy your rainbow girl got here safely and 9lbs 10 wow!

Congrats again, i know from the forum you had a really tough time ttc and am so happy your baby girl is thriving x

So I’m booked in for c section tomorrow but baby Kaleesi-Mae couldn’t wait and was born this morning at 12:58am after 16 hours slow labour then emergency c section. We are both doing good  she is a little piece of heaven

She weighed 8lb 12 the Chubbs xxx

Congratulations Charl-26! I love your daughter’s name, it’s really pretty and unusual. How are you feeling after your C-section?

Hi Avis, thanks for your lovely words  I’ve had some difficulty with breastfeeding unfortunately. I lost quite a lot of blood during my c-section and this affected my milk supply so my baby wasn’t getting enough. As a result, the hospital insisted she be given formula as top ups to the breast milk and this has been the main part of her diet. What the hospital didn’t tell me was that by breastfeeding my baby less (she demanded less due to the formula), this would affect my milk supply and the breasts need a lot of stimulation in the first 10 days apparently from the baby or a breast pump and otherwise it can mean the body will never produce enough milk. As they didn’t tell me this, I think my low milk supply is probably now permanent, which has been really upsetting for me as I wanted to exclusively breast feed. I’m going to ask my GP tomorrow for some medication which helps boost milk supply, as a last resort. If not, I’ll keep formula feeding her and breast feeding her for as long as I can so at least getting some breast milk.

My advice to you therefore is, make sure your baby breast feeds as much as possible during the first 10 days. If you have difficulty breastfeeding however, then use a breast pump to express your milk so that your breasts are still being stimulated. The more they are stimulated the more milk they will produce. The electric pumps are better than the manual ones I’ve found but they are expensive. You can rent them however for about £45 per month. Also, breastfeeding isn’t as easy as it looks and it really does take practice to get it right, so don’t worry if it takes a while to get the hang of it. The best people to ask advice from are the midwives and the midwifery assistants at the hospital. Your hospital may also have a lactation consultant and there’s also a lot of information on the internet. I’d also advise you have plenty of fluids and eat well. You’ll need about 500 extra calories per day. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll be fine! I look forward to hearing news of your baby! xxx

Congratulations Charl 26! I’m so pleased you at KM are both well  8lbs 12 wow!

Thanks for the advice Sarah, you dont ever get it easy do you? Good on you for still going with the bf and dont beat yourself up about formula feeding.

Thanks for tips, will defo let you know how i get on and hopefully i will have a BA soon too!

xx
