Anyone having pain near belly button after tube removed?

So I am 19 weeks pregnant today, a year and a month since I had my ectopic and emergency tubal removal. As I’m starting to grow, I feel this painful strain in and near my belly button. More internal. Im wondering if it is from my surgery as there was an incision inside of my belly button and on both of sides of my lower abdomen. I know it could just be me stretching, but it’s so focused in that area that I can’t help but wonder. It hurts to sneeze, cough, laugh ect. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Hi ClauraG23,

Congratulations on your pregnancy and all the very, very best wishes for your term. While I’m not medically qualified to comment on your particular case, I can say that surgery for previous ectopic pregnancies can leave us with scar tissue. This scar tissue can cause different sensations, such as in in future pregnancies when the abdomen stretches. Having had surgery, we’re also likely more aware of the sensations regarding where our scars are located.

However, I absolutely encourage you to visit your GP or midwife to discuss the sensations. They will have the best diagnosis and will be able to record the occurrence in your records.

With good wishes,

Michele
