Anyone else due in/around August 2021?

Hi all,

Thanks for sharing your stories, I find it very supportive and feel less alone in my journey!

I had a 5 week miscarriage in June last year, which was so unexpected! Then as I missed being pregnant I tried to conceive again straight away which I did - 2 weeks later. It was a twin conception, one in the womb and one in the right tube. During this pregnancy I found out I have fibroids as well. I had a natural miscarriage at 7 weeks. The doctors were quite reassured everything was ok after the natural miscarriage and although I had no pain I knew to press for more investigation as I suspected things were not ok. Ultimately a week later I had to go in for surgery to remove the ectopic pregnancy which had fallen from my right tube’s fimbriae and latched on my right abdominal wall and continued growing. They ended up removing my right tube because the surgeons waited for 30 minutes for the tube to stop bleeding but it wouldn’t stop.

Three months later without trying I fell pregnant again with hubby telling me the entire two week wait that I am pregnant. It was annoying at the time, but he was utterly convinced!! Turns out he was right. I immediately pushed for early scans and blood work. 5 week scan showed a sac well positioned in the uterus. The due date being a year to the day I had the ectopic surgery! A 6 week scan sowed a foetal pole with a heartbeat and a 7 week scan showed the baby had grown well - doubled in size. I am now almost at 10 weeks and am keen for another scan! But I know I’ll just obsess and worry from now till the 12 week scan anyway so I decided just to wait patiently till then… Hoping for another good scan, fingers crossed!

Dear Sindiandbu,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and losses, but huge congratulations on your pregnancy.

I wish I had more tips for ideas of distraction until your next scan. Try to keep as busy as you can and your mind active, read, watch box sets, anything to keep you distracted.

Thank you also for writing your whole story, it really will give hope to so many women.

Sending huge hugs and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hi,

Congratulations on your amazing news! I too suffered an ET in September 2020 which resulted in left tube removal.

I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant and according to the sod will be due end of Aug/beginning of September which is very close to when I had my last pregnancy.

Similar to you, I pushed for a few scans through EPU to ensure everything was growing the correct place and I had a private scan at 9 weeks which all looked well but I can’t wait for the 12 week one!

One thing my husband and I took from the first horrible experience was that I’m much more aware of my body and I know when something is not right, which has made me more confident in pushing doctors in investigating things further. But with that, I’ve also learnt to enjoy the process and let things bloom as they should and they will! Positive thoughts and mindset is difficult to maintain in the current pandemic but enjoy your little bubble of joy!

Wishing you the best in the coming weeks and months and praying everything goes smoothly for you xx

I’m so sorry for your loss but congratulations on your rainbow baby I too suffered an ectopic pregnancy last august and then a miscarriage 5 weeks after my surgery to remove my right tube but I am now 17 weeks 2 days pregnant we had the early scans and there was a scary moment when they didn’t know if bubbah was there as from my dates I should have been 6 weeks but turns out because I only had one time of the month since the miscarriage I was a bit earlier as my cycle hadn’t gone back to normal we also weren’t trying and are absolutely over the moon we are due august 2nd which is 11 days before the 1 year anniversary of the ectopic. Hope all is well with you and good luck in the rest of your pregnancy xx
