Another ectopic?

I had an ectopic pregnancy in August which resolved By itself in Sept/Oct. I had my second official period last week (at the right time of the month) but it was very light and short compared to what I usually get. I have been getting abdominal pains for the last couple of days and I’m getting paranoid that it could be another ectopic. I did do a pregnancy test a few days ago which was negative.

I’m really confused.

Dear Star12345,

Sadly etopic pregnancy can be notoriously difficult to diagnose because it often presents with symptoms that can be suggestive of other, more usual, conditions such as gastroenteritis, miscarriage or even appendicitis.

If you find that your pain is worsening despite over the counter pain relief or you also experience any bleeding, bladder or bowel problems, shoulder tip pain or feel dizzy and unwell please seek urgent medical advice. As I am not medically trained, I would always advise to discuss your symptoms with your GP.

Sending much love,

Karen x
