Hi I’m only one week down the line but looking to the future and wondering the same myself.
Did your periods come back straight away? I hope everything works out well for you this time.
I spoke with my GP on Monday and he recommended that I take folic acid when it’s safe to do so and just try again like normal x
Hello there
Yes my periods are back as normal. I don’t know if I am ovulating or not lately haven’t been using OPK’s. I took a brake for like 3 mo.

Dear Twinkle
I’m sorry to hear you have been through an ectopic pregnancy. I hope I can answer your questions.
Just in case things weren’t ever explained to you, medical professionals advise that you wait for 3 months or two full menstrual cycles before trying to conceive in order to allow your cycle to return and for there to be a clear Last Menstrual Period date to date a new pregnancy from. The wait also allows any internal inflammation and bruising from the ectopic to heal and for you to start to come to terms with the emotional impact of the ectopic (although for many women it will take longer than 3 months to process the experience).
When looking at trying to conceive after having had the methotrexate injection, the medical advice is that you should wait until your hCG levels have fallen to below 5mIU/mL and then take a folic acid supplement for 12 weeks before you try to conceive. This is important because the Methotrexate may have reduced the level of folate in your body which is needed to ensure a baby develops healthily in a subsequent pregnancy. When treating someone with methotrexate, doctors usually confirm with blood tests when the hCG levels have fallen below the 5mlU/mL level.
I hope this helps.
