3 ectopics now pregnant

Hi All,

I haven’t been on here for a long time. I am so greatful to have a beautiful 5 year old daughter but been ttc baby #2 for over 3.5 years now.

1 ectopic with tube removal

2 ectopics managed conservatively

Failed IVF transfer

To my surprise i got a BFP (naturally) this morning 15dpo i got 2-3 weeks on my test and now im so so scared. How can you even try and be hopeful after 3 ectopics…… Am i stupid to even think this could end in a healthy pregnancy.

EPU wont see me until the 5th Aug and that feels so so far away.

Every little cramp and twinge is scaring me so much. Are little cramps even normal?

How to survive without losing my mind until the 5th aug.

Any advice and positivity greatly appreciated.

Thanks xxx

Dear Miss Sibbs,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,

After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous, especially following multiple losses. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I also felt twinges and aches after my ectopic pregnancy, particularly when I next felt pregnant. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have friends here who understand how you are feeling.

Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, I sadly have to remind you that if you experience any unusual bleeding, abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell to seek urgent medical advice.

I am glad to see you have your early 6 week scan booked and I completely understand the worrying time waiting for the scan date. I really wish I had the powers to fast forward time! In the meantime try to occupy your mind as much as you can, meet with friends or family, go for gentle walks, even reading or watching box sets.

We will also be here for you, these boards are a safe space for you to share thoughts and feelings or ask questions.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hey there,

I had 2 ectopics myself last yr (same side, managed first with mtx and then surgery). I got pregnant again in May and can definitely relate to your feelings. I honestly don’t know how one with this kind of lived experience could avoid stressing and twinges, pinching, etc. The wait for the first US also felt untenabld. I kept myself really busy with activities that required my full attention as much as possible, which helped.

Im currently 12 weeks pregnant (my first intra-uterine pregnancy…!). Im really wishing you the best on your pregnancy and am around of you need to talk or vent with people who understand a bit of what you’re going through.
