Hiya,
So nervous and worried!
I had an ectopic pregnancy in Sept 2016 which really knocked us for 6.
Even though you only have to wait 12 weeks to try again we decided to wait longer (needed to get my head in a better place).
So we just started trying and I’ve got a positive test! Early day (4weeks) but we’re over the moon.
I’ve booked a 6 week scan at epu but I’m so scared! Every time I use the toilet I’m expecting my period and every slight tummy ache I’m thinking it’s happening again.
Should they have offered to take my bloods at epu or is it normal to just go in at 6 weeks for the scan?
Wish I could fast forward to 17th April when we have our scan.
Xx
Dear Cmarsh,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,
After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I felt twinges and aches after my ectopic pregnancy, particularly when I next felt pregnant. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have a friend here who understands how you are feeling.
It is not usual for bloods to be taken, usually doctors carry out an internal transvaginal scan at around six weeks with subsequent pregnancies after an ectopic. This is because there is a reasonable chance at six weeks of seeing an embryo around this six week mark.
Sending much love, positive thoughts and warm hugs,
Karen x

Hi Cmarsh
Hoping it all goes well for you this time stay positive and take care of yourself.
I had my ectopic same time as you sept 2016, I’m also giving it some time but will start trying soon.
Let us know how your appointment goes xx
Hiya ladies,
Firstly thank you for your kind words.
So we had our early scan today and guess what… the little one is exactly where it should be and even had a strong heart beat.
We’re so relieved!
I know we still need to get to the 12week scan but at least the risk of another ectopic is out the window.
Thank you again to EPT you really are great!
Xx

Dear Cmarsh
That’s fantastic news I’m sooo happy for you, I just pray it all goes well for you and your blessed with a healthy baby
Hi congrats i had a ectopic in nov 2015 with tube removal due to rupture. I got pregnant in jan 2016 after the ectopic and had my son last september ! With him i had 3 scans 5 7 and 9 weeks then the routine scans. I found out i was pregnant last weds had some pains in shoulders back and lower left side on where my only tube on is on saturday and was told to go to a & e did a preg test was negative so did bloods and then repeated them monday nearly trippled in 47 hours… Ive had a scan today and babys in right place again! My guess is from what they told me unless you have pains bleeding or shoulder pain you have to wait til 6 or 7 weeks as u are unlikely to see much earlier. I saw the gestational sac today and the start of baby i am just over 5 weeks . Have hope faith i was convinced this pregnancy and my last were both ectopic after loosing my tube because each time ive had the same niggly pains turns out its just a pregnancy cyst
. Good luck
Wonderful news. I have had 2 ectopics in 9 months I’m 4 weeks past methotrexate with my second one as soon as I found out I was pregnant I phoned up early pregnacey and I asked of I could go up and get my bloods taken as I was going out my mind with worry. You should phone and explain that you are feeling really scared and need some peace of mind. I’m praying for you good luck xxx
This is very encouraging to hear. I had an eptopic the same time, Sept 2016 and had to have a tube removed. My husband and I have been ttc for about 5 months now with no positive tests:( I am now on cycle day 44 (which isn’t unusual for me) with negative tests yet again. I like hearing your success story. It gives me hope.
Congrats!
Hi ladies
Not been on here for a long time.
I had an ectopic last year and had methotrexate and after trying for a few months im pregnant again but It’s all the same pattern as my last ectopic I started bleeding thinking it’s my period only until it lasted longer than usual, I did pregnancy test and it was positive.
I rang EPAU who booked me in for scan in 2 weeks and said there isn’t anything else they can do for now and just said I need to rest and take it easy!!
I have a very strong feeling it’s an ectopic again but yet still trying to be positive but I’m finding it very difficult. I’m bleeding but it’s mostly pinky and watery and then sometimes it’s red and clotty I’m sorry for being too explicit but I need some advice
It’s now been 8 days I’ve been bleeding and the wait is already killing me…
