Hi all.
I am 2 weeks post surgery for an ectopic in my left tube. The tube ruptured and I had emergency surgery. 2 of my wounds (left ovary site and previous c-section scar) are healing nicely and no problems at all.
However the wound inside my belly button is VERY sore every time I move. And I have noticed a smelly white discharge coming from my belly button frequently.
I’m really uncomfortable and seeing my doctor tomorrow. Is this something to worry about?
I have been overdoing things a bit since I got home as I was feeling ok. But now I’m barely capable of bending or sitting upright
Hi
I’m sorry for your loss, it sounds like an infection I had one after my surgery… again from overdoing things, it is so easy to do! But you must rest as it is major surgery and you need to let your insides heal.
I had my surgery December and still get deep twinges my doctor said it’s scar tissue. Please take it easy and see your doctor and they can advise you.
Take care x
Hi,
I’m also 2 weeks post right Salpingectomy. Sounds like an infection but all will be ok with antibiotics. The belly button is a tough one as it can moisture can get caught inside and aggravate things. My mum had a hysterectomy in December and suggested from her experience for me to dry the wounds with a low heat hair dryer after showering to make sure they were as dry as possible before getting dressed.
Hope all goes ok at doctors!
Dear DebD,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss.
Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, the symptoms you describe about your wound do sound like you may have an infection, so I would strongly advise that you see your GP or practice nurse who will be able to assess you.
Sending much love,
Karen x
