Spotting on second cycle after methotrexate terrified

Hello,

I was diagnosed with a pregnancy of unknown location in September and had one shot of methotrexate it worked well and within 2 weeks HCG was 0 and I started taking folic acid.

When I reached 0 I had a bleed then a normal cycle and a very normal period of pink spotting day one then three days bleed.

I then had another normal cycle with the same type of period.

However we went away and got carried away I thought it was far enough away from ovulation to be ok and was looking forward

To starting to try again next month.

However I have been having all kinds of pregnancy symptoms and “feel pregnant” I expected my period between the 27th and 30th of this month and all I’ve had is 3 days of spotting first pink then dark now brown and mucosy CM.

I am still awaiting my

Period to start but it’s never started like this before?!

I’m about 11dpo test may have had a very faint line this morning. Will restart in two days.

But I am 13 weeks post MTx shot and 11 and a bit weeks this week of taking folic acid following HCG of 0 and I am terrified if I am pregnant the baby will be deformed!

Added!

Or I’m terrified it’s another ectopic

Dear Rohub,

I completely understand your concern,

As you have had a positive pregnancy test (a faint line is positive) and are experiencing bleeding, I would advise seeking medical advice. If you are in the UK you can do this by calling NHS111.

Although I do not wish to alarm you, if you experience any abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain or feel dizzy and unwell, please seek urgent medical advice by attending your local A&E.

An early pregnancy scan and/or blood tests will let clinicians know if the pregnancy is in the right place (I will keep everything crossed) and you can discuss your recent methotrexate injection and length of time taking folic acid with the Drs at the early pregnancy unit.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hi Robub

I know it’s been a while but thought I would check in given I’m on the road to full recovery after MTX! Would love to hear positive stories.
