Hello ladies
I’m so glad I found this forum. I was wondering if you could help me… I’m 6 weeks post op after a right sided ruptured ectopic. I’m still suffering with shoulder tip pain, Is this normal?
Plus I’m happy to share my experience if anyone wants to talk. Xx
Dear R Foster,
I’m so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss.
We often feel discomfort in places we did not expect following surgery for ectopic pregnancy as although they are very careful with you, you are very relaxed and it can make muscles very relaxed and painful after surgery. I would suggest taking over the counter pain relief per pack instructions and gentle heat and mobility. If the pain doesn’t settle or worsens, please seek medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
First of all, I’m so sorry you’re still in pain after everything you’ve already had to go through.
I’m 3 weeks post-surgery now but I was admitted back to hospital a week agowith serious pain, including shoulder tip pain. I’ve still got a lot of fluid in my womb which is causing discomfort and contributing to the shoulder pain and they think I have nerve damage too, which they’ve given me pain meds for.
But my doctors said I can expect this for ANOTHER 6 weeks, which would be 8 weeks post-op. So you’re not alone with the pain and discomfort, I just hope it’s bareable for you and that pain killers give you some relief <3
