Sex after ectopic

I have been discharged from EPU with an HCG of 4, after expectant management. The pregnancy in my tube should resolve itself, so fingers crossed it does. I also have a haemorraghic cyst at 4cm which they also say “should” resolve itself.
I am no where near ready for sex but is foreplay and climaxing okay for the internal pressures? I’m unsure if it would be detrimental when things are healing. Any advice?

Dear holly,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss.
Many early pregnancy units discharge people and stop monitoring once the hCG level is below 5.
It is therefore safe for you to resume any kind of physical intimacy you feel ready for.
Best wishes,
Karen x

Even when the pregnancy mass is still in my tube and I have a haemorraghic cyst?

Dear holly,
We are unable to give specific medical advice. Most people do not know if they still have cysts or masses in the tubes as it is not common place to have additional scans. In general we advise to avoid anything that increases intra-abdominal pressure (such as penetrative sex) until hCG levels are below 5, you can enjoy other ways to enjoy sex, however if you have questions about your specific circumstances, i would suggest speaking to your medical professionals.
Best wishes,
Karen x
