I’m planning on trying to get pregnant in the new year but I’m so worried ive been on the wrong contraception. The doctors said that the implant was the best thing for me at the time but now I’m worried it’s going to ruin my body and leave me at risk of another ectopic pregnancy. Should I go onto the barrier method for a while before trying for a baby?

You are correct in mentioning that implants if progesterone only is associated with a higher incidence of ectopic pregnancy. Without access to your medical records, I am afraid it is difficult for me to say why your doctors have suggested an implant for you but it would be worth reminding them of this.
