Rehabilitation after laparoscopy

I had my surgery 10 days ago. My belly is still swollen. The stitch around a navel is hard.

The surgeon says I don’t need any medication or other action after surgery. But I still do worry if I need something to prevent adhesions, physiotherapy, bandage or something else.

I would appreciate if you could share your experience after a keyhole surgery. What were you prescribed?

Dear Irina,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss.

There isn’t anything doctors can do to stop adhesions but wound sites generally heal quite well. I know you are bloated now but this will settle. We have lots more information on our website here about care after surgery, including wound sites which I hope helps. In terms of physiotherapy, I would suggest taking things gently whilst wounds are still healing.
