Hi everyone hope your all doing well.
After suffering 2 ectopics this year in Jan (right tube removed) an april (in the stump left over from right side) I have found out this week I am pregnant again. Very early only 4weeks but have rang n booked in for 6 week scan which is 8th Nov. However I am experiencing pain on the right side (stabby, stitch like) again jus like my previous ectopics…has anyone else had this n gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?? Xx
Hi Flumpyosc,
I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through. I had an ectopic in July (right tube removed) and recently found out I was pregnant again. I had stabbing pains on my left hand side where my remaining tube is and was very worried. I went to A&E as the pain got quite bad and they referred me for a scan. They did the scan at 4 weeks and 2 days and saw what they thought was a sac in the right place. I have had another scan today and the pregnany was definitely in the right place.
If you’re worried about the pain definitely see your GP and they may refer you for a very early scan. Obviously, I’m still very early on but I had stabbing pains and all looks ok for now.
Good luck. Xxx
Hi thanks for replying n congratulations. Ots such a stressful thing to go thru now after Wat we’ve suffered. I had none of this when prego wit my lb and didn’t know anything about this!!! I think I might ring the epu jus cos I’m stressing myself out so much. That’s probably not helping the situation tho either. Surely it can’t happen again in the same place. The pains r starting to get worse n I feel light headed on an off xx
Definitely contact them. I’m sure a lot of my early symptoms were due to the stress of it all. Anything to put your mind at ease will help. Sending lots of positive thoughts. Xxx
Dear Flumpyosc,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,
I too felt pain I became pregnant following my ectopic pregnancy, they were quite sharp at times and I was referred by my GP for a scan, I was 5 weeks at this stage.
In the hospital I was informed that my hCG level was low for expected dates and nothing could be seen in the scan. I was prepared that it would most probably be a second ectopic pregnancy and booked in for a second scan at 6 weeks. It was the longest week of my life, I was petrified and every twinge and ache made me feel even worse.
At the 6 week scan however, there was a tiny heart beat in the right place and I went on to have a completely normal, healthy pregnancy.
I think after our losses and hardship we have been through, it is completely normal for us not to relax until the 6week scan.
I would suggest discussing your pain and dizziness with your local EPU or GP, it may put your mind a rest (a little) that you are being looked after by medical professionals.
Sending much love and positive thoughts,
Karen x

So thought I’d update for anyone interested. Went for a scan ysday at 5 weeks and saw a gest sac, yolk sac and poss fetal pole in the right place!!! Oh my word …relief! There’s a small bruise hematoma in there too n told me to expect a bleed which I’m worrying about but back in 9 days for another scan!!! Thanks for all ur msgs xxx
Dear Flumpyosc,
I am so pleased for you, I know how difficult the wait for the scan is and the relief to find out baby is in the right place.
I can imagine that you are worried about the haematoma and potential bleed but don’t hesitate to call your midwife or GP if you have any concerns.
Will also be thinking of you for your second scan.
Much love,
Karen x
