Hi there
I had a c scar ectopic in January treated with methotrexate and then laparoscopic d&c. I’ve had pain in the right tube ever since, I’ve repeatedly asked about it when doing post op checks and now, three months later they’ve discovered a 10mm mass in my Fallopian tube. Thankfully it’s been confirmed as not another ectopic but they believe it’s pelvic inflammatory disease and I have a large cyst.
It’s so frustrating and scary as I thought we were now clear to try again, I’m scared it’s going to scar my tube and I might have a tubular ectopic now after the scar one.
Has anyone experienced this? It feels like a journey that will never end.
Hi Firstecpreg,
I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve suffered an ectopic pregnancy and loss, and that you are continuing to go through such a worrying time.
It’s very good that you were persistent in having your doctors look at the pain in the tube, and that it has not gone undiagnosed. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is a common condition which is an infection of the upper part of the female genital tract including the womb and fallipian tubes. If diagnosed early, it can be treated easily but if left untreated it can cause complications. You may find more information here, if you haven’t already: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/%20Pelvic- … tment.aspx
Still, I know that the emotional and physical recovery from the ectopic take time, and that it is now coupled with the uncertainty of the PID diagnosis. Please remember that there is nothing you did to cause the ectopic pregnancy. Right now, it is most important to look after yourself and continue to heal. We are here for you as long as you need.
With kind wishes,
Michele
