Well… we have 2 beautiful children, ages 3 and 17 months. I had been on the birth control Evra (its a patch) for about 5 months. One night I had this “explosion” of bleeding. Didn’t think much at first. It was darker than usual, and alot. It didnt last long, just the night. 10 days later, I had the same thing happen. Then the next day some lighter intermittent bleeding. I went to the emergency and they checked me out. Their conclusion was it was a “threatened” miscarraige and that I was ok. I went to the doctor a few days after that. He took a preggy test and it was positive. So he booked me for an u/s that week. The day of my u/s I had severe pain in my left side. I was crying and it hurt, but then went away… So I went to my u/s, and it took a long time. I was about 5-6 weeks along. The technician had to do a vaginal scan because it was really early on and she couldnt see much. So the doctor at the clinic came in and told me that he was concerned the pregnancy isn’t where it should be and he saw something on my left side. He told me to go home and my doctor would phone. Which he did. He didn’t tell me it was an ep, but was illuding to it. He had wanted me to come in so he could reffer me to a specialist. But I didnt make it to see him. That night I started hurting again, so I went into emergency again at 10pm and told them I had a possible tubal. They got me in RIGHT away and the surgeon was going to do surgery at 5am to see what was going on. Well, the pain got worse and the nurse gave me demerol. A while later she called the surgeon because I was looking pale and my blood pressure went way down. The surgeon came down and touched my belly all over. He barely touched and I was in severe pain. They did the surgery 30 min later. My tube had ruptured and I had internal bleeding. 1 litre, they told me. They took my left tube. It was all very strange, as I admitted myself. I was all alone. My surgery was at about 2 in the morning and my mom and hubby came first thing in the morning. Anyways. So they stapled me up and I was in hospital for 4 days. 3 days after being home, I had the staples removed and that day my incision reopend. Part of it anyways. So I went to the doctor and he steri taped it. 4 days later, part of it re opened again so I went to the walk in clinic where my doctor is, and they stiched it up. Its healed now. But it was very scary, it all happend so fast. Nothing really hit me until I got home from the hospital and then I really broke down. We weren’t planning on having a 3rd, but we were so happy when we found out. It was just so scary. It’s been almost 2 months since and I feel I’m doing well.
