I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced hair loss/thinning after methatrexate or surgery for rupturede ectopic (ive had both)? ive notice this week (3 weeks post op and 6 weeks post methatrexate) ive got alot of hair falling out on a daily basis and its fine enough as it is so cant afford to lose anymore. I know stressing isnt going to help but ive been through so much and thought i was on the mend and now have to contend with this.
Does anyone have any advice on how to reduce it? I have started taking a skin, hair and nail supplement and zinc supplement and using a hair thickening shampoo.
Temporary hair loss is a less common side effect of Methotrexate but it is a known side effect. Temporary hair loss can also occur from very stressful situations.
I would suggest not using any harsh chemicals to your hair and it should start thickening up again soon. If this doesn’t happen, please speak to your GP.
Sending much love,
Karen x

I had hair loss/shedding about 4-5 months after my surgery. Apparently it’s quite common after a traumatic experience and it’s called Telogen Effluvium. I had too much hair before but the stress that it was going to keep coming out and never stop was horrific but don’t worry it’s very very rare for it to never come back. It will grow back and you do not need to worry. In the mean time try taking some Floradix for a temporary boost.
