Foods or Vitamins to take with 1 tube

Hey all…

I had a ectopic pregnancy in May this year and my left tube was removed. I have had 2 losses in 6 months. I have had my 1st menstrual, and due my 2nd anytime soon. Me and my husband have decided we will not try to convince after I have had my 3rd menstrual cycle.

However I wanted to know what are the best food and vitamins to take, to make sure the second tube is healthy and to boost fertility. I am just so scared and trying to make sure things go right this time :frowning:

Currently I am taking pregnacare but I have read online you still need to boost certain vitamins

Many thanks

AngelP

Dear Angel,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,

Sadly there aren’t any medications, vitamins or tests we can take to ensure we do not experience ectopic pregnancy again.

We would advise following NHS on pre pregnancy vitamins and diet and I have added a link here

https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/trying-for … pregnancy/

We have more information on trying to conceive on our website too-

It is normal to feel anxious about the future. We experience a mix of emotions from wanting to try again to being petrified of what may lie ahead. We never forget our babies but we can learn to accept what happened. It is a slow process that might be weeks or months ahead. In time, we can get to a place where we feel comfortable trying again. When this is, is individual for each person. There is no timeframe for recovery, take each day as it comes.

Importantly early scans avail. As soon as you know you are pregnant, contact your local EPU to inform them and book in for an early scan at around six weeks. Remind them of your previous ectopic pregnancy. This self refer route is the best route in our view. Hopefully you will have some comfort to know you are under the radar of medical professionals right away.

Sending much love,

Karen x

While nutrition plays a role in fertility, there is little evidence that it is linked to blocked fallopian tubes. While you’re trying to conceive, it’s still a good idea to consume a varied diet and stay hydrated so your body has enough nutrients. Vitamin D is an important component for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 are the two types of vitamin D that are vital for nutrition. Fortified foods, such as breakfast cereals, milk, and other dairy products, are the main sources of vitamin D2. When you are exposed to sunlight, your body produces vitamin D3.
