Follicles on ovary without tube during IUI

Hello, its been a little over a year since my ectopic pregnancy/ tube removal surgery and I haven’t been able to get pregnant again. I just starting undergoing fertility treatments (clomid + IUI). During the ultrasound monitoring, the doctor said I will be ovulating from my ovary without the tube. The doctor still recommended we proceed with the IUI since the other tube can still catch the egg. But if the egg only makes it to the opposite tube 10-20% of the time, doesn’t this seem like a waste? I only have 6 IUIs covered by insurance (which is great!), and I don’t want to waste one of my IUIs. The doctor says its only 20% success rate per cycle (I assume with 2 tubes) so why reduce that already low chance even more? Am I being overly pessimistic or realistic? I’m worried this will only set me up for disappointment. What do you all think?

Dear GoldenState16,

Sadly I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your current treatment plan.

I would advise that you have a discussion with your medical team with your concerns.

Sending much love,
