Fetus

When asked what we wanted done, we asked hospital to manage it. 4 days later and I want it myself as it’s all we will have, I went to hospital for suspected appendicitis and ended up with EP surgery. Is there anyway of contacting and requesting or is it too late? We didn’t really have any time to think about it

Dear Brill88,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,

Sadly I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your query.

There are several guidelines for medical professionals to follow regarding the sensitive treatment of your baby. As a result, many hospitals have adopted arrangements with local crematoria for the sensitive disposal but they are guidelines, and procedures vary from hospital to hospital.

We recommend that for local information about your hospital, you contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) department and ask what their policy is.

We will be here for you if it is too late and you need a shoulder to lean on.

Sending much love,

Karen x
