Hi, I was wondering if it’s normal to feel exhausted whilst going through an ectopic?
I found out last Monday and went back for repeat bloods on Wednesday, levels were going down but I felt absolutely fine. Where as from Thursday on wards, I have felt exhausted. From lunchtime on wards, I could just sit down and have a nap (which isn’t possible with 2 little ones). Saturday I was asleep by 8pm which is not like me at all!
Is this normal or unusual? Is it an indicator of something else going on as they were still querying a possible rupture due to finding some fluid but not concerned.
Thanks x
Dear Adelelea12,
It is very common to feel exhausted when going through ectopic pregnancy. This is especially so if you have been treated with methotrexate injection.
When we experience ectopic pregnancy we are suddenly faced with a life threatening emergency and it’s treatment, reduction in fertility, concerns about the future and the loss of our babies. Experiencing any one of these is an ordeal, putting them together is immense and your feelings of exhaustion are completely normal.
Be kind to yourself and allow time to recover both physically and emotionally.
Sending much love,
Karen x

Hi Karen, thanks for your reply. I haven’t had any treatment, just left to see what happens. I also haven’t had much info on what’s normal except for what I’ve found for myself, which makes it harder.
