Exercise and pain after three months

I had an Ectopic open surgery (ruptured) and after two month and two weeks later I started to follow my Dancing Class. After that rested one more week and started normal dancing and gym routine once i completed three months from my surgery days (this is a bit excessive). However I’m feeling pains here and there near my cut and I’m scared whether It was too early to start normal routine. Am I going to get hernia or something? Should I take exercise slow and when can i start the normal routines or excessive exercising and dancing. Because it is the only thing that helps me to keep my mentality up :frowning: Hope someone can answer me  thank you

Dear Samz93,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss and completely understand the desire to get back to normal.

We generally advise that you should take it very easily for about six weeks after surgery. Your body will be using its energies to heal internally. It is normal to feel physically and emotionally exhausted during this time and please do be kind to yourself. Recovery can take time and some days will be better than others, one day you maybe ok and the next you maybe in discomfort or more emotional. This is perfectly usual and the healing process will go back and forth in this way for however long you need. It is important to listen to your body’s signals and pain and feeling tired are your body’s signs to tell you to rest. We suggest keeping a healthy balanced diet, drinking lots of water and resting. Once your wounds have healed, very gentle exercise such as a short walk can help, but please do take this slowly.

Following surgery we would advise a slow introduction to physical activity and working up the intensity gradually. Pain is usually the bodies signal to slow things down a little.

Sadly I am not medically trained so if you are concerned about the pain you have recently experienced, I would suggest chatting this through with you Dr.

Sending much love,

Karen x
