Etopic pregnancy , no medical assistance needed

Hiya . I had my last peroid 29th of June, I was one day late and got a postive pregnancy test, the following day I started spotting, went gp hcg was risen , bleeding continued (bleeding4weeks in total)got seen in epu and confirmed etopic pregnancy. hcg started to drop then its self so didn’t need surgery or injections.

Now I’m just wondering would anyone have any idea as to when a peroid would be due?? An as I hadn’t to have surgery or anything, do ye know is it safe to get pregnant again fairly soon…

As this is my 3rd miscarriage this year I will be seen by epu straight away and kept a close eye on… eager to to have a little sibling for my child so not an only child

Hello,

So sorry to hear about what has happened! I am in the exact same situation as you.

I have just had some very light bleeding and being reviewed again on Tuesday however this Tuesday my bloods were 355 down from 800.

I was told that my cycle could change after my ectopic, so I am just waiting to see what happens.

This would have been our first little one & we have been trying since the start of the year.

Sending you positive thoughts x

Dear Tittytat,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss,

If you haven’t had surgery, most people find that their period arrives some time in the four weeks after their hCG levels have fallen to below 100 mIU/mL.

Before you can have a period, ovulation needs to occur. It is perfectly possible to ovulate 14 days after surgical treatment and almost as soon with methotrexate treatment. It is important to be aware that it is possible to become pregnant even without having the first period if you are not using some form of contraception when having sexual intercourse.

The first period may be more painful or less so than usual, heavier or lighter, and last for longer or shorter than usual – there really is no set pattern. You should be able to manage the discomfort with over-the-counter (OTC) pain relief medications and should not be soaking a pad in less than an hour. If this is not the case, you should seek medical advice.

I hope this helps,

Sending much love,

Karen x
