Have any of you noticed any odd changes after your surgeries?
I had my ectopic surgery about 2 months ago. The swelling in my abdomen is mostly gone, but it’s not all the way. But I’ve also noticed my hair seems a lot thinner than it was. And I have been having bags under my eyes. I have never had them before ever in my life (and I have other kids so my body has done big hormonal shifts before). I also seem to be having a hard time staying hydrated despite drinking a lot. I’m still breastfeeding my toddler and my supply seems fine, but I just feel parched all the time. Has anyone else had anything side effects like this? This was the first time I have ever been under general anesthesia so I don’t know if any of these problems could be from that or what.
My cycle so far seems pretty much what it was before. Only real difference I’ve noticed there is that before the ectopic my body was throwing stronger ovulation symptoms and the last two cycles they have been more mild like they used to be.
Going through the ordeal of hormonal changes through baby loss, coupled with surgery and its recovery can certainly take its toll on our and can take a while for the effects to.settle down. If your symptoms worsen or continue, it maybe worth chatting to your medical team or GP. They could review you to make sure there is nothing else affecting your health such as anaemia.
We recommend eating balanced meals, drinking plenty of fluids, gentle exercise and rest during this recovery period.
Sending much love,
