Any success stories of pregnancy in late 30s?

Hi, I’m starting to lose hope of ever having a successful pregnancy having had an EP and early miscarriage/possible resolved ectopic. I’m 37 and I know that fertility declines after the age of 35. I’m so worried that due to my age and previous history I will never have a baby. I would love to hear from any ladies who have had an ectopic and then go on to have a child after the age of 35.

Thank you,

Sarah x

Hi Sarah

Sorry to hear you are going through such a worrying time :frowning: I’m here to tell you that it definitely is possible to have a pregnancy after an ep and over 35. I had my baby daughter 6 months ago at the age of 37 after an ep in 2008 followed by a mc at 11 weeks in 2009. I thought it would never happen and was trying to come to terms with that fact. I threw myself into getting a new job (cliche I know) and my pregnancy came out of the blue just after I had been offered the job. This also came after 3 IVF failures and an operation to laser holes in my ovaries to help me ovulate so we had been given a very small percentage of chance to conceive.

I know it feels like an impossibility when you’re in it and you can’t imagine ever being successful but it can and does happen even at our old age!

Wishing you all the luck in the world and sending lots of babydust your way

Hi Louismum, thank you for sharing your story which is incredible. I’m so happy for you that you had your baby daughter after going through so much. It does feel that having a baby is impossible for me but reading your story has given me some hope. x

Hi Sarah

I am also 37 and 23 weeks pg with number 2 after an ep in 2008.

Not bad for 1 tube!

It’s hard when you are knee deep in ttc but you WILL get there. This pg came after 20 months trying during which I decided to leave my demanding full time job to reduce stress levels.

Wishing you luck.

Jo
