I have had 4 ivf cycles and 2 resulted in ectopics, one treated with methotrexate and one with surgery. I have had my left tube removed. The surgeon said my right tube looks ok but there is scarring which is suggestive of endometriosis, although I have had no other symptoms. Has anyone else been through something similar in terms of dealing with ivf and ectopics?
Dear maria,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses,
Sadly there is no guarantee of not experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, even with ivf.
Unfortunately I am not an expert in ivf, so I cannot give you specific advice, but I would advise discussing this with your fertility team.
For now, be kind to yourself and allow time to grieve, to heal both physically and emotionally.
Sending much love,
Karen x
