Will I still show positive ovulation test with 1 tube

Hey all!

Hope someone can help answer my questions. I’m 3 months post tube removal due to ectopic. 5 months post blyted ovum. Been a hard few months! I feel ready to try again while we are away!

I have been testing by doing ovulation tests and today it shows a positive ovulation test. Does anyone know if it will still show positive if the if the egg is from the ovary with no tube? Or will it only show positive from my side I have a tube? Hope someone can help

As far as I’m aware it shouldn’t matter which side you ovulate from as the remaining tube will move to whichever ovary has produced an egg

Hi OP, a positive ovulation test tells you that luteinising hormone (LH) is surging. LH is a hormone that is produced in the brain and sends a signal to your ovaries to release their maturing egg.

Knowing that you’ve had an LH surge is just knowledge that the signal is being sent, rather than any information about what ovary might be listening to the signal.

But, I was delighted to recently learn that our ovaries and fallopian tubes aren’t quite how we learnt in school, rather than being fixed to each side, the tubes can move around. So even if you don’t have a left tube and the left ovary ovulates, the remaining right tube will sense this and can go and collect the egg!

So, no matter what ovary releases the egg, you still have a good chance of conceiving. Wishing you lots of luck with your TTC journey xx
