Hello there. I understand exactly how you feel! I was very worried of the fertility side of things. After many research and visit to the doctor, he said chances of conceiving are reduced slightly - especially as your tube has been removed. As you said your other tube is intact and clear, there is absolutely no reason why you cannot conceive and have a healthy, bouncing baby. It will take longer, of course, but it will happen in time!! Try and have sex around the ovulating phase (you can buy cheap ovulation strips on eBay) and that will also increase your chances of conceiving so that the sperm reaches the egg. If you are worried or have any concerns, please see a doctor! They will put your mind at ease, like they did mine. Best of luck
3 cycles isn’t really a long time yet, keep trying it will happen don’t worry
Hey… thanks for ur replies jus being paranoid about this whole thing. Here and there i tend to worry and confuse myself, Plus i dun hav anyone to talk too abt this as none of the ladies arnd me hv gone thru an ectopic pregnancy. But when i saw this forum i just felt like sharing how i feel and was hoping to get encouragement. Once again thanks for ur replies… somehow it made me feel better
Hi, I had an ectopic pregnancy back in October last year which resulted in the loss of my left tube. It was a pretty horrific ordeal to be honest and I was terrified I would never be able to conceive again.
I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and I have seen little bean with a heart beat. Hopefully everything is going as it should.
Don’t give up, I was getting stressed about it all and just decided if had enough of stressing about it and just left it down to fate and it happened.
Hi Nitha27,
I don’t blame you wanting to hear success stories… Sometimes I spend hours trawling through the net looking for them and there are in fact plenty of them out there. I had my left tube removed on 11th of March. It was my first pregnancy. I still struggle some days so I know how you feel.
My cycle seems to be up and running again so this month I started trying again. I’m hoping I won’t have to wait too long either. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you too!

Hi there,
I had my right tube removed in Dec 2014. Waited the 2 cycles and conceived immediately on the third (we did use ovulation sticks…) currently 17 weeks pregnant and going ok, fingers crossed. I found the stats that 60- 80% of couples after e/p conceive within 18 months of trying and possibly 85% + after 2 years… was massively reassuring. I’m also on the older side (37) with other health issues (under active thyroid, abnormal uterus) so there is definitely lots of hope and reasons to stay positive - it will happen!
Best of luck xx
Hi shortcake!
Wow! That’s great news… Delighted to hear that it happened so quickly for you and that all is going well…
i was so worried I wouldn’t be able to have kids too but I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant
Hi Shortcake and Mc1987
Congrats. N thanks for your positive stories to make me and the rest feel better. I think I will try using ovulation sticks this month as i didn’t use it for the past 3 months of trying.
Do eat well n take care of yourselves
hi, I had an ectopic pregnancy in February 2012, I had surgery to remove my left tube. I thought I would never get pregnant again, it was a very difficult time. Now I have a 2 yr old bouncing all over me on the sofa and shouting about Peppa Pig as I type this, he was conceived only 6 months after the ectopic. I would say look after yourself now and don’t give up hope!
Hi, I had a ruptured ectopic 8 weeks ago at 6 weeks pregnant, which resulted in loosing my right tube. It was my first pregnancy and we had been trying for a year. Very traumatic but excepted it as one of those things that come to try us and moved on!
What helped me was the surgeon telling me that there was no apparent problem with my tube and no problems with the remaining one. He also said that when the right ovary produces the egg it will just go down the left tube remaining and that they fully expected to see me having a healthy pregnancy in a few months time. Has anybody else heard of this?
This is my first month of TTC since and I’m hoping it happens quicker this time round!
I’ve also read that after a miscarriage there is a tendency to be more fertile. Just hoping it all comes together soon.
Wishing everybody lots of baby dust after such devastating times. Xxx

I had ectopic pregnancy in June 2014 and my right tube was removed. We waited till 3 months and we got pregnant January. It felt like it was never going to happen and was worried with just one tube. My little girl is now 10 months and we are thinking of trying for the second baby soon after she turns 1. I hope you get pregnant soon x
Thanks happy5
