Hi I’m wondering if anyone else took a long time for periods to return after one dose of methotrexate?
Hcg hit 0 on 14th Feb and now it’s mid April I still have had no period? Slight cramping at times but no period has come.
Dear Jmhawoth,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss.
Most find that their first period arrives at some time in the four weeks after their hCG levels have fallen to below 100 mIU/mL when treated without surgery, According to a study for women who had methotrexate treatment for an ectopic pregnancy in a Fallopian tube, periods generally return to normal after an average of 24 days (range of 24–38 days) from the pregnancy ending.
If it has been longer than 6weeks and you have not bled at all or you are concerned, please do seek medical advice.
Best wishes,
Karen x
