Oral sec 12 days post methotrexate injection

Hello everyone and thank you for allowing me to join this forum. I unfortunately had an Ectopic pregnancy and was given the single dose methotrexate injection on 2/10/23. It’s been 12 days and I only bled for maybe 3 day after injection (I lost a lot of tissue, placenta, and baby the day before I received the injection) doctor wasn’t sure if the mass in my left fallopian tube was the baby or a cyst so he went ahead and did the methotrexate injection. My question is how soon after receiving the methotrexate injection can my husband and I have oral sex? I know full penetration isn’t recommended for 6 or so weeks but no one has told me about oral sex.

If any of you have any knowledge on this I’d really appreciate it. After going through all this trauma my husband and I need to be intimate to ensure this trauma doesn’t cause us to pull away from each other and I’m craving his touch and embrace. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Dear ADK,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss,

You can engage in oral sex as soon as you feel comfortable. As you have mentioned, we don’t recommend anything that would increase intra-abdominal pressure such as penetration until your hCG levels are near pregnancy levels.

Sending much love,

Karen x
