Niggling pain one week after ectopic

Hello,

I had an ectopic pregnancy and my right tube was removed over one week ago. Today I have started to feel a niggling pain to the right hand side where my tube was removed. Is this cause for concern? It isn’t sore just very aware it’s happening. I went a walk today with a friend and worried I may have now over exerted myself.

Dear glambi,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss.

You should take it very easy for about six weeks after surgery. Your body will be using its energies to heal internally. It is normal to feel physically and emotionally exhausted during this time so please do be kind to yourself. Recovery can take time and some days will be better than others. One day you may be okay and the next you may be in discomfort or more emotional. This is perfectly usual and the healing process will go back and forth in this way for however long you need. It is important to listen to your body signals. Pain and feeling tired are your body signals to tell you to rest. We suggest keeping a healthy diet drinking lots of water and resting.

Having said this pain is very subjective and if you are concerned or the pain is worsening I would suggest seeking medical advice.
