Hi ladies…

Just looking for a bit of advice and I suppose reassurance from people going through what I am.

I got took into hospital 2 weeks ago with pains and bleeding and it took them 3 days of various tests to discover I was having an ectopic… I had 4 shots of the methotrexate and kept in another day due to low blood pressure. They also signed me off work for 2 weeks. I am in so much pain … is this normal? My levels are coming down slowly but the pain is awful!!! I’m due back tomorrow for more bloods but I guess I just wanted some reassurance. I’m due back to work next week but the thought of being back like this is panicking me… can you ask for another sick note? Thanks for reading :slight_smile: xxx

Hi, Firstly I am so sorry you’re going through this it’s an awful thing to go through.

I had pain with the methotrexate and it was like random sharp pains in my side…Very sore. Remember though if it gets really bad or you get shoulder-tip pain see someone asap as you’re still at risk. Hopefully you can get some reassurance tomorrow!

As for work take as much time as you need. Just ask for another line. I was off for around 8 weeks all in. Rest is vital! Good luck with your bloods x

I had four doses of methotrexate and then a laproscopy and was off for five weeks of work all up! Was hard to figure out where the effects of the drugs stopped and the surgery / loss stuff kicked in but either way - worthy of a sick note for so long as you feel like work would be harder than being in bed!

I’m six weeks post now and starting to feel more sane and stable finally, take all the time you can if you can!

Thanks so much for your replies :slight_smile: I went back into hospital last night as the pain became too much and scans showed that the mass in my tube had actually grown although my hcg had been slowly coming down, and I have had a bleed in one of my tubes!

Currently awaiting my next dosed methotrexate and then scans every 2 days… If this fails surgery will be my next option! :frowning:

Update - so my levels came down to 54 last week hadmy day 4 bloods yesterday and they have gone upto 400!! :frowning: so I’m back in today to figure out what’s going on! They have prewarned me I’m probably going to have surgery today!!

Just want this over with so I can get back to normal, I’m having so much time off work and my little boy must be so confused with me constantly not being there :frowning: :frowning: xxx

Did you get surgery?
