Expectant management bleeding

Hi,

I have been diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy on my left tube. The mass is small and my HCG levels are going down. I am having another blood test done on Friday but yesterday I started bleeding a bit more. So far it has been always just pink spotting with occasional small clots but never more than that. Yesterday it looked more like my usual period but the cramps lessened.

Today I woke up with more intense cramps, which were gone after some time without the need to take painkillers but I am still having a period like bleeding. Is this normal?

My last hcg was something like 160.

Did you also experience different levels of bleeding and cramps while waiting for ectopic to resolve on its own?

Dear Ectopic1,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss. Whilst it is normal to experience some discomfort and bleeding with ectopic pregnancy, if these are worsening, i would strongly advise seeking urgent medical advice. Whilst i do not wish to alarm you, worsening bleeding and pain can be a sign of rupture even with low or declining HCG levels. It is best to always get reviewed just to be on the safe side.
Sending much love,
