Ectopic pregnancy twice

Evening, I have had two ectopic pregnancies in the same left tube and with my second ectopic had surgery and they removed the left tube. I just feel like it’s never going to happen :frowning:

Dear Kez26x,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses. To experience one loss is difficult to deal with multiple losses is heartbreaking and my heart truly goes out to you.

Please do not loose hope, it can still happen. We hear from many women who successfully conceive following multiple ectopic pregnancies.

Generally, when a person has only one fallopian tube and both ovaries, they are still able to get pregnant from an egg at the opposite ovary as an egg from one ovary can travel down the tube on the other side. The fallopian tubes are not attached to the ovaries and, at the point of ovulation, some very delicate structures called the fimbriae begin to move gently creating a slight vacuum to suck the egg toward the end of the tube it is nearest to (like lots of little fingers waving and drawing the egg towards it). So, if you have only one tube then there is only one set of receptors working and one set of fimbriae creating a vacuum and so the egg is much more likely to find its way to that tube, whichever ovary it is produced from. Conservative estimates suggest that an egg produced on the tubeless side manages to descend the remaining tube around 15 to 20% of the time.

Above all be kind to yourself at this difficult time and allow time to grieve, to heal both physically and emotionally.

We will be here for you for as long as you need,

Sending much love,

Karen x

SaMe here.

It was the worst fertility experience which it’s also the most uncomfortable thing for me to talk about even with my closest.

But you know what, the bright side is now the damaged tube is removed so next time you wanna try you start from scratch, it’s just now we share a lower possibility of successful pregnancy but it’s ok.

Stay strong and positive. x

Sorry for you loss I have had 2 in my right tube unfortunately mine was not removed as the hospital decided on the management treatment which I thought was wrong and I am not fighting to get it removed… I honestly believe you will be fine and you’re definitely in a better position than me as your other tube will do the work to give you a successful pregnancy x
