It’s Day 17 after methotrexate, and I have come down with a stinking cold and a throat that’s on fire.
Nurse at EPU said I can take paracetamol (?!!) Is there genuinely no other medication I can take whilst on Methotrexate? Has anyone else been ill whilst working through an Ectopic pregnancy. My HCG levels are currently just above 50.
I’m so sorry to hear you are feeling unwell, on top of everything. As I’m not a medical professional, I can not advise anything beyond what your nurse has said. However, lots of rest and fluids are always a good thing especially after all you’ve been through. Certainly, if you are feeling increasing unwell, please do call your GP to be seen. While I do not want to alarm you, it can be possible to rupture with low/falling hormone levels (under 5mIU/mL is considered no longer pregnant) and it would be important to get the care that you need to be on the safe side.
With good wishes,
Michele

I used to get tonsillitis and Difflam spray (you have to ask over the counter) is a particular life saver for an inflamed throat and can’t see how that would contraindicate for Methotrexate.
