Hello, I had treatment for a pregnancy of unknown location (treated as if it were an ectopic) - I had two injections of methotrexate (2nd one end of feb) and my HGC levels dropped rapidly after the second injection.
I would like to start TTC in my next ovulation window (which is this week), however that is a few weeks before the recommended 3 month waiting time. I have had my folate levels tested and they are within the range (in fact within the higher range) of recommended levels for women who are TTC. Given this information, I wondered if it would be safe to TTC in this ovulation window.
Thanks
Dear Harrilen,
We would always recommend taking folic acid supplements for 12 weeks prior trying to conceive. This coupled with giving time for everything to settle, so waiting for 2 periods or 3 months prior to trying to conceive is advised as best practice.
If you wish to be guided by your results, that is your choice but we cannot provide individualised medical advice.
Best wishes,
