Second ectopic. Is it resolving?

I am going through a second ectopic (PUL) and I would be around seven weeks

My hcg has been fluctuating, can someone guide me whether this is a sign of self resolving ectopic? I can get methotrexate but apparently my hcg levels are so low that it might be resolving on its own. Since the end of June, my hcg has been like this

10

49

32

26

71

78

64

So they are up, down up and down! They think it may be trying to resolve itself. I am bleeding small red and brown blood, not enough to soak a pad. I felt pressure in my rectal area but I think it is because I am constipated and gassy and been struggling to go for a num2. I had ultrasound which showed no free fluid. no IUP, no mass and all looked “normal”

What are my hcg indicating? They aren’t giving me the mtx unless my levels go up again twice. What are the signs of self resolving ectopic?

After 78 it was 91, then went back down to 64. Having another blood test tomorrow

Varying hcg is a sign of it resolving itself in my experience.

Mine were 520, 300, 370, 59.

Apparently its not uncommon for it to fluctuate slightly.

How are you now?

Thank you for replying. Sorry for late reply! My hcg was 31 last Thursday. I am testing tomorrow and if it is still positive I have to call the EPU. Even though mine is fluctuating is that a resolving ectopic with such low hcg levels? Xx

The registrar I saw said if it’s resolving it’s not uncommon for it to go up and down. Mine is down to 19 now, hoping to get a negative and be discharged on the next visit. X

I took a 10 miU test and it was so faintly positive (a lot fainter than the other 10 miU tests ive been doing) I took a clearblue digital and It said not pregnant. I will take another next week to be absolutely certain as I am still having brown discharge with jelly substance brown clots (sorry tmi) did you get ectopic symptoms while it was resolving? You've really helped me with this. Thank you so much xx

Sorry for the late response.

I had the exact same and it’s only in the last 4 days that the brown clotty stuff has stopped.

I had just started writing this message and the EPU called to let me know that my bloods were back from this morning, have fallen to 3.1, and I am officially ‘no longer pregnant.’ A relief that the whole thing is over and im safe, but also really sad at the same time.

Hi there. That is very upsetting but the ordeal is finally over for you! I am still getting light brown discharge with very small stringy clots. I am also getting dull tugging pain on my R side and sometimes minimal pain in my rectum. I am buying a preg test tomorrow to see what the result is (to make sure) as I am quite concerned this might be another cornual - I spoke to a lady on another forum and she said that she had negative tests, Inc clearblue but they found out she had a cornual after undergoing a diagnostic laproscopy

Are your epu not having you in for regular checks? I’ve had a blood test near on every other day for the last fortnight. X

Nope they said my levels went down to 31 and progesterone 4 and said I do not have to come anymore. I might give them a ring and request one more blood test. They are useless they kept saying that my hcg will be zero in a week that was in June.. We are now in August. They are unbelievable x

Yes thats really unhelpful. Definitely contact them and explain the ongoing symptoms you’ve experienced. You shouldn’t have to keep buying pregnancy tests and trying to self diagnose, especially for something so serious. My EPU have been amazing, some of the most lovely people i’ve ever met. Unlike my GP who was an utter B when I started with the symptoms.

Hope you get some success with going back for more bloods xx
